Smith & Nephew IODOSORB Dressing is a cadexomer iodine–based wound dressing designed to manage exudate while delivering sustained antimicrobial action. When applied, the dressing absorbs wound fluids, swells into a gel, and slowly releases iodine to kill microorganisms, forming a protective gel over the wound surface. This sustained release minimizes cytotoxic risk compared with certain povidone-iodine dressings.

• Absorbs exudate — high absorption capacity (up to 7 times its own weight in wound fluid) helps establish and maintain moisture balance in the wound bed.
• Desloughing and debris removal — assists with wound cleansing by absorbing excess slough and debris and supporting desloughing during dressing changes.
• Slow, sustained iodine release — cadexomer beads release iodine gradually as they contact wound fluid, providing broad‑spectrum antimicrobial activity over time.
• Gel-forming barrier — as the dressing absorbs fluid, it forms a protective gel over the wound surface, aiding a clean and contained wound environment.
• Broad antimicrobial action with reduced cytotoxic risk — sustained iodine release delivers antimicrobial effects while minimizing potential cytotoxic effects, compared with some other iodine dressings.
• Available in all sizes — designed to suit a range of wounds with sizes including 5G (6 cm x 4 cm), 10G (8 cm x 6 cm), and 17G (10 cm x 8 cm).
