Product Features & Benefits

• Available in multiple sizes, including 3 cm x 44 cm ribbon and standard dressings in 5 x 5 cm, 10 x 10 cm, and 15 x 15 cm to fit many wound geometries.
• High absorption with gel formation on contact with wound exudate, locking exudate inside the dressing to minimize leakage and maceration.
• Cut-to-fit design and strong integrity allow the dressing to be trimmed to match the wound’s size, shape, and depth while conforming to the wound bed for optimal healing.
• High dressing integrity enables one-piece removal, reducing pain and trauma at dressing change.
• Documented haemostatic effect helps arrest minor bleeding due to the release of calcium ions from the dressing.
• Mode of action: on contact with wound exudate, Biatain Alginate forms a soft, cohesive gel that maintains a moist wound healing environment.
• Product composition: 85% alginate and 15% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). Available as dressing and ribbon.
• Indications include moderate to heavily exuding partial- to full-thickness wounds, and it can be used with compression therapy. Not recommended for dry or lightly exuding wounds or heavy bleeding. Suitable for pressure injuries, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, and traumatic wounds.
